Disaster Averted

I got this far on Sarah's Purewool pants and as I went to divide for the legs, I realized that I didn't have enough stitches!

I had forgotten to add the 20 stitches in the first row of the body after the ribbing! Thankfully, the 104 stitches I did have was exactly what I needed for William's pants, so these have become William's pants! They will just have a little bigger waistband, which isn't that big of a deal since I usually run a line of elastic through the top anyway!

So Much Knitting, So Little Time!

I have so many projects that I want to do and feel like I will never finish what I'm working on to start the next one!

Currently, I'm working on a pair of pants for Sarah using the Purple & Yellow Purewool. I have Emily's pair done and still need to make William's pair. I'll have to get a picture of them to add!

I would also like to make a scarf for Dan using the Caron Simply Soft yarn in stipes of blue and white.

The yarn at the bottom of my yarn stash tub is for socks for me (and maybe the kids since I got 2 skeins of each color). I haven't ever made socks before and am going to try toe-up socks two at a time!

Stitch Markers

I decided to make some stitch markers.

This shows all of them.

This is a row counter for a 4 row repeat. On the first time though a repeated pattern, you put the knitting needle in the 1st ring. On the 2nd time, the 2nd ring goes on the needle. And so on....

This one cost ~$1.75

These are just to mark a certain place in the knitting (ie. center front, etc.)

These were ~50¢ each

This one has a lobster claw instead of a ring as it is for marking a stationary point in a knitted project (such as the beginning of the legs) or for crocheting where you have to put the marker on the work itself.

This one was ~75¢.

New Longies

This is the Gentlemen and Blauer Reiter colors of Purewool rolled up into balls.

Here are the longies I knit for William using the Blauer Reiter color.

Here is William modeling them.

I made them with the Tinybirds Organic "in the round" pattern. I made the rise and legs shorter than her newborn pattern and I think they fit pretty well!

We took the girls sledding for the first time on Sunday.

Waiting for a turn to go down the hill.

Dan & Emily on the way down.

Sarah and I going down.

Dan & Sarah coming back up the hill.

Emily was just as excited (or maybe more) about the airplane flying over.

Christmas 2007!

Our Christmas tree.

Our stockings hung up.

Sarah digging into her stocking.

Emily checking out her stocking.

Dan showing William's stocking stuffer books.

Sarah and Emily opening gifts Christmas morning.

Sarah with her "Marie" from "AristoCats".

William is sitting in his Bumbo seat with some of his new toys.

Emily is trying on her "princess" shoes.

Here Dan is showing the glass dragon and juggling balls from me.

Here I am with the snowflake necklace from Dan.

We went to my sister Rachel's house for the extended family Christmas. William was too hot, so he lounged in his diaper.

Snowman Family

The weather was warmer the other day, so the snow was good for making snowmen.
I bundled up the kids and we went outside.

Sarah is making her own "brother" snowman.

William really enjoyed making snowmen! I was going to wait for him to be napping before we went out so I could leave him inside, but he didn't want to nap-until we got outside!

We started out to make just one snowman and then added a "Mommy" snowman, so then we had to have a "baby" snowman. I decided we might as well make a snowman for each of the people in our family.

Emily is pointing to the "Emily" snowman.

Emily is patting the "William" snowman (who is lying down since William, the person, can't sit or stand!)

Carriage Ride

The town next to ours always does free carriage rides during the Christmas season. You go and sign up and wait your turn. Last year was the first the girls and I had done it and this year was Dan's first time.

All bundled up and ready to go!

Here are Dan and I with Emily and William.

Here are Grandpa, Grandma, and Sarah.

Here is "our" horse "Charlie"

The girls are visiting with the horse.
