Reality Check: Laundry Room

It has now been 10 weeks since I reclaimed my laundry room, and I thought I'd let you know how I was doing on keeping it.

The things hanging are for the fair next week and the thing on the end of the ironing board is a drawer from the kitchen that needs a new track.

The door is still free to open (obviously!) and the kids use it all the time to go to the backyard.
So, overall, I've been able to keep up with the laundry room!  Yay!

Park Parties, Block Parties, and Birthday Parties

Maranda from Channel 8  always has Park Parties every summer.  This is the 2nd time Greenville has hosted one.  It drizzled off and on during the event, but it was still fun (and free!)

Emily kept bugging to do the clay project, so I took her over.
They were making leaves to be part of an Art Prize exhibit.

Cousin Benjamin decided to do one, too.

This is the first time the kids have done the "rides"

(and 2 kids from church in the yellow car)

Andy just laid on his tummy and let everyone else bounce him!

Our neighbors hosted a Block Party two days later:

My sister had a birthday party for her two June birthday children on Sunday:

The girls with their youngest (until October) cousin

Birthday boy Peter with his cake

Birthday girl Anna with her cake

Added bonus:
As we were leaving church Sunday evening, we saw this hot air balloon.

It was going fast and in the direction the sun was shining, so it was a little hard to see

What is the Point?

Just wondering what in the world the point to this crop top sweater is? Did the originator run out of yarn? I think it looks ridiculous, but maybe I'm just not fashion forward enough!

It's a Girl (Again)

My brother and his wife just found out that their 7th child is going to be a girl.  She will join her older brother and 5 sisters in October.

My Spinning Wheel Works!

After fiddling with the driveband, I finally was able to get the bobbin to wind on the yarn.  Here is my first spinning wheel spun yarn!

Graduation Gifts 2011

This year, I had 4 tatted cross bookmarks to make for graduation gifts.  Mostly for former students.

John Ball Zoo Field Trip

I am finally getting to posting about the field trip I went on with Sarah's class last Friday.  We had 200 pictures from the day to go through and label and resize and etc!  So this is only a "small" representation of the pictures we took!

Take time to smell the roses!

He's kind of hard to see, but to the left of Sarah, next to the rock is a huge frog!  I had her stand there for reference on how big he really was.

Here he is!

I like the look on Sarah's face
