Final Farewell

Sunday was a bittersweet day as we said goodbye to not only our Pastor and his wife as they are retiring, but also to our church. With Pastor retiring, we decided the best thing to do was dissolve the church. We had only been averaging 20-25 people (including 7 kids and teens), so there wasn't enough people to be able to go on.

Once the weather warmed up a little, there was always many box elder bugs in the entry

The boys and Emily liked to pick them up and put them outside

Emily wasn't involved this time around, but I wanted to capture the ritual on "film"

For our final service, several families that had attended in the past came as well as friends

There were 50 people in attendance

It was also Mrs. Whittenburg's birthday, so we sang Happy Birthday to her

I brought my camera to my mom's house on Thursday, but didn't take any pictures!

Saturday, we went to Edmore for Thanksgiving for the extended family (on my mom's side)

William was "baby sitting" Samantha.

Emily had fun with Samantha, too, and was concerned she was missing every time she wasn't in her carseat.

Andrew's help consisted of taking ornaments off the tree, and in this case, eating it (it was yarn)

Crazy Hair Night

Wednesday was "Crazy Hair Night" for Olympians. We all got our hair done up in fun ways.

This is all of us from behind. Andy had a few barrettes in his hair (what he has anyway!) but they are hard to see!

Vacation Bible School Prep.

VBS is this week at church. It is exciting this year that we have the sole occupancy of the building so the decorating has been in full swing all last week! (Last year we couldn't really do anything until after the other group had used the building on Saturday)

Dan & I came in on Wednesday to help out

Here is a start to the hallway / entry decorations

And the start to the auditorium decorations

Here Andrew is enjoying his feet sliding around on the plastic!

Yesterday at church, they did a little intro to the theme of VBS (SeaQuest: Diving for God's Treasure)
