Tessa Gregory is the youngest of the Gregory sisters and has pursued many different passions as the mood struck. Now she must get a job at Como Park to prove to her older sisters that she is serious about horticulture so they will stop treating her like a child.
Reese King is drawn to Tessa the first time he sees her and when he sees her garden designs, he decides they can help each other achieve their goals and offers to help her. As they work together to build a garden, the seeds of love begin to bloom. Will the secrets of their pasts pull up the seedling of love?
"As Love Blooms" is the third book in the Gregory Sisters series, which I did not realize. I have not read the first two books (although I just discovered I actually have them both in Kindle editions!), but I didn't feel like I was coming into the story partway through. It gives details about the older sisters' lives that I assume you learn gradually through the other books (like how they ended up with their spouses and jobs), but it didn't make you loose any of the meaning from this story.
Tessa kept me wondering what she was going to do next and I kept waiting for Reese to make his move. I was somewhat surprised that they declared their love for each other as "early" in the book as they did. It made me realize that there had to be some sort of a blow up to pull them apart, before coming back together by the end of the book. I didn't expect the event that took place after the blow up, so I was surprised.
I enjoyed reading "As Love Blooms" and will go back and read the previous two books (even though I know the results of the story)
