College Day

Every Friday in February, Sarah's school has special dress-up days. This week was "College Day". This is all Sarah had that had something to do with a college. It is from the University of Indiana.

Potty Scotty Potty

I won a potty chair from Potty Scotty on their Facebook page.

I didn't really need another potty chair as I have the one the girls used and the froggy potty I got for William, but it was free! (I would have liked to win this month's giveaway for training pants more!)

It is smaller than the froggy and all one piece.

Here's Andy trying it out.

I was Sarah's age during the Blizzard of 78 and remember playing out in the deep snow!

I was trying to get a picture of Andrew next to the snow drift up to his head, but my batteries were dying and it took too long to take the picture so you can't really see him!

Security Blanket Lovey Babies

I had seen a pattern for a blankey baby and thought some of trying it out for selling at craft sales, but then forgot about it. Sunday, my mom brought me a pattern she'd found! So I decided to finally give it a go!

The original pattern had you sew bits of poly-fil in for hands and tie knots for feet. I decided to try doing knots for both the hands and feet.

This is how it turned out. The knots weren't very easy to tie and this one was made with a knit fabric.

The 2nd doll was made with fleece, so I knew I wouldn't be able to tie knots since it was so hard with knit and the fleece is thicker. So this one has stuffing in the hands and feet.

Everyone thought this one looked like a butterfly.

As with most things, I had to alter the original pattern to make it more to my liking!

This is what I ended up with!
It is 12" tall and 11" from hand to hand. Only the head is stuffed so it is like a blankey and a baby all in one!
The older kids didn't like that it didn't have a face, so I may embroider faces on them, too.

I Tatted Again!

I did some tatting yesterday! YAY! It's been 6 weeks since I did any sort of handcraft following the doctor's order to give my Tennis Elbow time to heal. I didn't do a lot of tatting, but at least I was tatting! I started on a design for an acorn for my new tatting book.
