Book Review: "The Heart's Pursuit" by Robin Lee Hatcher

I received an eBook copy of "The Heart's Pursuit" to read and review through Booklook Bloggers.

Silvana (Silver) Matlock was left standing at the altar, but worse than that, her fiance stole her family's money and jewels leaving them unable to pay off their debts.  She decides it is up to her to find her ex-fiance and get the money back.  She hires bounty hunter Jared Newman and tags along for the journey.

Jared Newman hasn't always been a bounty hunter, but it is the best way for him to keep up his search for the man who took his family from him.  As they close in on those they seek, Silver and Jared must learn that they must rely on someone other than themselves.

I read this book in less than a day.  I thought I had the story figured out and then it took a twist I didn't expect!  I liked Robin Lee Hatcher's style of writing and her characters were believable.  The story is set in 1873 in the West.  I have always liked books in this setting.  The characters pray and have a relationship with God, there is also no physical contact and there isn't even kissing until almost the end of the book.

I would recommend this book for those who enjoy historical romances of a Christian/inspirational variety.  There is also a set of questions at the end of the book for use in a book discussion group.

You can buy a Kindle version of "The Heart's Pursuit" on Amazon.com for $7.99 and a paperback version for $11.95.
