My Little Picasso

For Christmas, we gave Emily a painting set.  She wanted to paint with it right away, but we had our extended family Christmas party to go to.   She brought it out today and painted a picture for her siblings.

It even came with this cute little paint palette made for lefties!

The finished piece

Emily has always been my child who was most interested in creating masterpieces.  This picture is of Emily the day before her 2nd birthday.  I wrote an identically titled blog post about it here.

Emily's Artwork

When we went to the older 3 kids' conferences this week, they had a room divider/display of art in the main hallway/entry.  Emily had a piece of art on it ☺

We got some freezing rain last week and I thought it made some cool pictures:

Recycling Art Project

Sarah had an optional project for school to use recycled items.  She decided to make an elephant.

The paint really added to the project!

Future Tatting Pattern Designer

Emily was watching me drawing sketches to design new patterns for my new tatting book. She asked if she could do one.

This is her sketch for a tatted Mommy pattern.
I think I have a designer!

Artprize 2010

When we were in Grand Rapids for the Spirit of America concert, we decided to go across the street to view some of the Artprize exhibits. I took pictures of the ones in that area whether I thought they were good or if I even knew what they were!

The kids liked the big nest

My sister knows the artist who did this dragon. She is talking to him in the background on the left side holding Peter.

This exhibit was made out of nails!

William liked the airplane flying around the best!
