"Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers" by Gabrielle Meyer, Amanda Barratt, Erica Vetsch, Susan Page Davis, Lorna Seilstad, Kathleen Y’Barbo, and Vickie McDonough

About the Book

Book: Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers

Authors: Gabrielle Meyer, Amanda Barratt, Erica Vetsch, Susan Page Davis, Lorna Seilstad, Kathleen Y’Barbo, and Vickie McDonough

Genre: Christian Historical Romance

Release date: June 17, 2025

Seven dedicated Texas Rangers risk their hearts and their honor in this thrilling saga of romance and justice in the untamed West.

In 1875 Texas, the notorious Markham gang threatens the peace of the frontier, prompting seven determined Rangers to pursue them across the state. But their mission becomes complicated when love ambushes the lawmen at every turn.

While tracking the outlaws, these stalwart Rangers encounter extraordinary women who challenge their dedication to the badge: a young widow protecting dangerous secrets, a jeweler’s daughter guarding precious cargo, a former soiled dove seeking redemption, a stubborn horse owner with a score to settle, a quick-thinking bank teller turned hostage, a talented silversmith forced into counterfeiting, and a brave witness who holds the key to bringing down the gang.

From train robberies to kidnappings, these Rangers must navigate the dangerous territory between protecting their hearts and upholding the law. But when love and duty collide, even the most steadfast lawman might be forced to choose between justice and romance.

My Thoughts

This book is a compilation of 7 novellas that are connected by an over arcing storyline (that of the Texas Rangers capturing the Markham Gang). There is also a connection to the earlier book/collection "Seven Brides for Seven Texans" which is about the Hart brothers, who we see quite a few of in this series as well. There were good biblical faith elements in the different stories. About 2/3 of the way through the book, I was thrown a bit by the fact that outlaws that had been captured in previous stories were now still free (and there wasn't a jail break). It was a bit confusing and I wondered how it hadn't been caught. The romances were quick (which is necessary in a novella) but didn't seem too rushed. I look forward to reading more books by These authors.

More from Erica

Hello! I’m Erica Vetsch, and I am thrilled that the Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers novella collection is being republished by Wild Heart Books. This collection, and its predecessor, Seven Brides for Seven Texans, are dear to my heart.

If you have read my previous blog post about Seven Brides for Seven Texans, you will know that all the authors in the collection worked closely together and collaborated well to bring the interconnected novellas into one cohesive story. This required lots of cooperation and communication, and a careful readthrough for continuity.

The process was so much fun that when the original publisher approached me about creating a sequel, I was eager to do so. Six out of seven of the original authors were game to try it all again, and we recruited someone to fill the vacancy left when one of the originals retired from writing fiction.

This time, however, much of the groundwork had been laid. Though we needed seven new heroes and seven new heroines, the setting and especially the town of Hartsville were already set in stone.

For Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers, it was again incumbent upon me to come up with a basic premise for the entire collection, in this case a band of Texas Rangers chasing a gang of bad guys, and then let the authors choose their own storylines. We communicated with one another to make certain that each story would be different, but also be part of the whole. Bank robberies, kidnappings, horse thieves, witness protection and more! All set against the backdrop of the American West.

Once again, the authors agreed to turn their mss in to me early so I could read them all for continuity, since I was the person most familiar with all the stories. I was able to make notes on each novella that helped the project editor and speed up the editorial process.

It was a joy working so closely with this group of authors. I learned so much about their processes and talents, and they established a high bar. I enjoyed each and every story in this collection, and I hope you will, too!

"The Bible Companion Book 2 Leviticus-Deuteronomy" byKaren Westbrook Moderow -- Epic Book Launch

 About the Book

Book Title: The Bible Companion Book 2 Leviticus-Deuteronomy

Author Name: Karen Westbrook Moderow

Genre: Bible Study

Do you struggle to relate to God in the Old Testament?

The Bible Companion Book 2 can help. Its simple one-chapter-a-day format lets you engage with

Scripture without the pressure of schedules, homework, or heavy reading loads. Short daily

readings and thought-provoking questions help you recognize God’s faithfulness even in your

most difficult journey.

Though filled with unfamiliar symbols and rituals, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy hold

treasures—the great promises of God. They show us the lengths to which God goes to be in our

daily lives. Hard-to-read passages come alive as we travel with Israel to the Promised Land and

discover the same God who guided His people in ancient times guides us today. If you want to

know what God is like and what matters to Him . . . if you question His love for you . . . if you

wonder how believing God can change your life, these books of the Law will speak to you. For

personal and group study.

Book Excerpt

Before the law, the Lord showed Himself to individuals here and there. In Leviticus, God
declares who He is to a group of people in such a dramatic way that the world hears of
it. The miraculous parting of the Red Sea announces His power to save, but the law
announces God’s intent to dwell with those He rescues. The lifestyle He ordains is
radically different from anything the world has seen before. The law reflects God’s
holiness and shows the world what He is like. It also marks those who obey it, declaring
they are His.
The law will not save us; only Jesus can do that. But the Ten Commandments, along with the
laws following them, set the standards for the kingdom God is building. This kingdom exists
within us, on earth, and in the world to come (Ex. 20:2–17). The law assumes our obedience to
God will witness of His character and intent. Leviticus also contains one of the most beautiful
statements of the church’s mission found in Scripture: “Proclaim liberty throughout the land to
all its inhabitants” (Lev. 25:10). God’s law is not intended to oppress, but to assure freedom and
justice for all.

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed reading this book. I found it to be well written and nicely paced. I love these partnership/co-authored book series that Sunrise Publishing does. I haven't read all of the connected stories, but I can tell by the mentions in Burning Hearts, that there are stories behind some of the characters in this book. For those who've read those stories, it is fun to see familiar faces and catch up on their lives a little bit. There is a nice biblical faith thread woven through the book and the characters grew and changed. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

More from Misty

Hello Friends!

I’m BEYOND excited to share the finale of the Brothers of Sapphire Ranch series with you! This is Sampson’s story, the black sheep of the family. I thought it might be fun to give you a taste of one of my favorite scenes in the book:

***

Sampson eyed the woman he’d been told to marry. “I’d feel better if you and Ruby weren’t at the mercy of your father. I’d rather give you my name and make sure you have a nice place to live—a safe place. I’ll make sure you want for nothing.” She studied him with furrowed brow. He let his eyes plead with her as he said this last part. “Please consider it. For Ruby’s sake, if nothing else.”

Her expression didn’t change, she simply…stared at him. What thoughts churned in that mind of hers? Did she believe him?

Or did she think he was on her father’s side, trying to manipulate her into giving him control?

Show her the truth, Lord.

At last, her mouth parted as she prepared to speak. Her voice came out hesitant. “Would you expect to…live with us? Like a real husband?”

He shook his head, fighting off the burn in his cheeks at what she really asked. “You can live wherever you like. My family has a ranch a day’s ride from here. You’re welcome to move in there. Or if you want to be on your own, near a town, we’ll find a place you like.” He forced himself to meet her gaze again. They had to be honest with each, and he couldn’t let embarrassment get in the way of anything she needed to ask. “I won’t expect anything from you. Nothing like in a usual marriage.”

Her shoulders sagged a little, as if in relief. But a small furrow remained between her brows. “Why are you doing this? Why would you willingly burden yourself with us?”

He let himself consider her question. Why did he want her to say yes so much? He didn’t owe her anything. She was the daughter of his enemy—kin to the man who stole a year’s worth of sapphires from his family.

But this woman was different. Nothing like Jedidiah. And for some reason, he craved to keep her safe. To protect her from the evil who’d sired her. She didn’t deserve to be at that man’s mercy. Nor did the sweet child.

Sampson could help her so easily. Not only did he have money from his share of the sapphires, which he’d saved for years, he also had his pay from McPharland.

He swallowed as he tried to put all this into words. “I can help you.” His voice graveled with how much he wanted to do that. And then he let himself say the real truth. “And maybe in helping you, I can make up for my own mistakes.”

***

I pray you love Sampson and Grace’s story in Saving the Mountain Man’s Legacy!

Blessings!

Misty

My Thoughts

I enjoyed reading this book. I felt it was well written and flowed well. I did get a little annoyed at the characters because if they'd just talk to each other, their assumptions would be proven false and they could get on with being in love. I did figure out the mystery pretty easily so that didn't keep me guessing. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

About the Author

Jackie Killelea is a born and raised small-town girl from Connecticut with a degree in English and Creative Writing. She started off her writing journey with poetry, soon shifting into novels and becoming hooked. On days when she’s not busy with her nose in a book, she can be found typing away with a cup of tea at her side.

More from Jackie

In Arranged with the Earl, Loftus’ study of plants and flora is his foremost pastime, aside from his duties managing his estate and those that come along with being an earl. In his conservatory, there are a variety of different species of plants that he cares for but, would he actually have had these plants in his conservatory and would they have been able to feasibly grow there if he did?

Well, according to my research and a bit of wishful thinking…yes.

The thing is, Loftus has a few native plants in his conservatory and those certainly would have been able to grow there, given that they’ve pretty much just been brought inside from other counties in England. Loftus knows his home country and the landscape as well as how to care for those plants, already. The trickier plants to think upon are the exotics.

For instance, when showing Catherine the conservatory for the first time, he mentions Black Hellebore(Helleborus niger). How would he have come to own this? This plant is native to the mountains and woodlands of southern and central Europe, so we must assume that Loftus would’ve had it imported, or grown from seed. Still, would a woodland plant grow well enough to produce flowers in a conservatory setting?

Well, fortunately for Loftus, Black Hellebore actually grows fairly well in containers and does well in partial shade, so where he placed it in the conservatory was a prime location and it isn’t a stretch of the imagination to think that it produces blooms there.

With each plant I chose to be in the conservatory, I had to research if Loftus would reasonably have access to it and if it would grow under conservatory conditions–as well as during the season in which the book takes place. Of course you, as readers, will still need to use your imagination at some points. I’m sure Loftus would agree that ideas, like plants, need lots of water and space to grow.

I do so hope you enjoy Catherine and Loftus’ story in Arranged with the Earl!

Sincerely,

Jackie
