Month In Review: February
My check in of goals for the month of February
Book Review: "On Lone Star Trail" by Amanda Cabot
"On Lone Star Trail" by Amanda Cabot is the 3rd and final book in the Texas Crossroads series. It finds us once again at Rainbow's End Resort. This time, Gillian Hodge has come for some time to relax while she figures out what is next in her life and to see her best friend Kate who is expecting her first baby. On the way, she witnesses a motorcycle accident. She helps the driver and brings him back to Rainbow's End with her. TJ has spent the last year driving around the country on his motorcycle trying to put the heartache of his wife's death behind him. As their lives collide, will they find the peace that only God can bring?
Each of the books in this series could be read as stand alones, but as with most series, it would be beneficial to read them in order as the characters from the earlier books make appearances in the subsequent books. We first learned about Gillian in "In Firefly Valley" when she was supposed to play for a special concert at the resort but couldn't make it due to an accident. This book was a very quick read for me and I had a hard time putting it down. I liked how the characters had realistic reactions and feelings about things and how life wasn't just easy and straight forward. I was glad to see their growth in their spiritual life as well.

Snow!
We've had 9 "inclement weather days" and most of them have been due to "icy back roads". We are now starting to add days to the end of the school year. Yesterday, we actually had off due to SNOW. It started snowing about 10:00 am on Wednesday and just kept snowing. They dismissed school an hour early on Wednesday and church was cancelled (which hardly ever happens). I decided to take periodic pictures of the snow cover to show a sort of progression. When the snow started, we had almost no snow left on the ground. I don't have a picture of that, but some from last Friday. It was warm that weekend and more snow melted from what is shown in the pictures.
