My Wool Longies/Shorties Collection

I decided to do an "inventory" of what I have in wool pants/shorts/soakers. Since we're having another boy, all the ones that I had for William would work for Andrew also. Other than William was born in late Fall and Andrew will be born in late Summer.

These are both new for Andrew. The first is a Pink Green Wool Tie Wrap (minus the ties) so it has a adjustable waist.

More Diapers

I have some "Infant" sized diapers that I got when Sarah was born. I used them for Sarah and Emily until they potty trained. But with the girls, I used PUL wraps, so the diaper just got laid in the wrap and the wrap hooked in the front. With Will, I have been using a Snappi with the wool soakers. This means I need the diaper to be able to come far enough around the body to hook the Snappi.

Here is Will wearing the Infant diaper with the Snappi.

Close up you can see how there isn't much overlap of the diaper to hook.

My Infant diapers are getting worn since they've been in continuous use for almost 4 years.

I bought some Premium sized prefolds from the same on-line group that I bought the Preemie sized ones

Here is one unwashed measuring about 14 x 22½"

Now after 3 washing and drying cycles, (laying on top of the unwashed one) it measures 12 x 18"

I added the Infant sized one on top to see how it compares in size.

And just for the fun of it, here is the Preemie one added on top.

See how fluffy the are?

I put them back in the box so that you could see the difference in size from when they first came.

I did have about a dozen Birdseye diapers about the same size.

But they are quite a bit thinner and I didn't know how well they'd hold up to the Snappi.

Purewool!

I had heard a lot about Purewool so when one of my Yahoo Groups was going to do a group buy, I had to try it out.

This is the bulging mailer my yarn came in!

Here is my yarn laid out on the bed.

This is a close up of the 4 colors that I ordered. I got (from the right) Blauer Reiter, Gentlemen, Violet & Yellow, and then yellow to match the other 3 to use as accents.

Christmas in September

We got a new refrigerator! We had a power surge problem during a recent storm and a bunch of things got fried, including the refrigerator. Well, God provided a really nice one that is even nicer than our old one.

It was kind of hard to get a good picture because there isn't much room since the stove is right across from the fridge! (The old one's door took up the whole space!)

Right after the delivery guys from Sears drove out, in drove the FedEx truck!

It was the "preemie" size prefold diapers that I had ordered. The yellow lump in the bag is my lanolin for treating my wool soakers.

They were very stiff and thin feeling, so I threw them in to wash them.

This is after one washing and drying.

Now after 2 washing and dryings.

After 3 washing and dryings. It doesn't look much different than after 2, but they are supposed to get softer with each use.

Now they are all folded up and ready to go in William's room.
