We have previously read the sticker & activity books featuring the Princess Parables characters, but this is the first of the actual Parables books we've read. In it, the princess are preparing for the annual Easter Jubilee. Along the way, they learn that it is better to think of others before themselves. The slip cover has glitter which I'm sure every girl will like. The illustrations are bright and colorful. There was one illustration, however, that didn't fit the story. It shows the princesses hugging their father after making it to the festival site. The next page says that the king notices the young girl that Hope was holding. The picture did not show the little girl at all when they were greeting their father. Did she turn invisible for that scene? I'm sure that most people wouldn't notice. The book says it is geared for ages 4-8. I think I would say more like 6-10. It is quite a long story for a 4 year old and my 10 year old loved the book. I liked how it incorporated God into the story and how Jesus is the best gift of all. While reading the book, I was perplexed why all of the sudden the word ASK was in all capital letters. Then, when a little further on, the word SEEK was also capitalized, I realized that they were emphasizing the words: ASK, SEEK, KNOCK as how to come to Jesus. I liked the "letter" from the princesses at the end of the book that wrapped up the story and reiterated the point of the book.
