SNOW!!

The day started out with rain (again) and about lunchtime switched over to "Snain" (snow/rain), and then just snow!  It didn't accumulate much, but we did have some.  BRRR!

Bed Covers

I got the boys' bed covers sewn.  They aren't really bedspreads or comforters as they aren't "stuffed".  I guess you could call them "duvet covers".  I got an IKEA duvet cover from eBay that I picked apart so I could make 2 covers out of the one.  It would have been much easier to get 2 of something, but this was cheaper!  I used tablecloths as the backs of the spreads (my mom's great idea ☺♥) in the boys' colors to tell them apart.

Bunk Beds!

I've been going to give the boys bunk beds since summer.  We needed to paint them to refresh them a little, but never got around to doing it for the longest time.  My parents brought them over today.   The ladder is eventually going to be orange and I didn't finish their bed covers, but here are pictures of the boys going to bed in their new bunk beds...

Cousins Create A Crunchy Leaf Pile

My niece flew into our area Sunday afternoon so she can participate in a scholarship competition.  We got to spend the afternoon with her.  The cousins all decided to make a huge leaf pile.  I didn't get to see the finished pile as I had to leave for choir practice, but they sure had fun ☺

Halloween Activities Part 4

This post actually contains several different activities, but I decided to go ahead and just post them all together.

School's Spooktacular Family Night:

The student council had a pumpkin carving contest (which we never got any info home about).  Will had mentioned something about it while I was doing something else, but I thought it was something they were doing in his class.  So Monday morning before the bus came, I carved a mini pumpkin.  Will wanted to use the face he'd drawn on his own mini pumpkin, so I carved it, too.  Emily entered the first pumpkin.

Will's pumpkin won for "Smallest in the K-2 division"

Class Parties:

Sarah's class didn't have a party (She rotates between 4 teachers), Emily's teacher originally said they weren't going to have one, either, but then ended up having one but it was the same time as Andy's party.  So I got to help with William's and Andy's parties.

Downtown Trick or Treating:

Emily with her "Friend Snake"  We had to go over so she could hold it

Residential Trick or Treating:

We have only gone trick or treating door to door one other time (our church usually ends up having special meetings the week of Halloween), but we were able to go this year (Dan even took the day off from work).

Trunk or Treat:

Sarah's friend's church has "trunk or treat" and fun activities, so since it was raining, we decided to spend some time there.
