This book was interesting because it starts when Elimelech, Naomi, Mahlon, and Chilion are still in Bethlehem. It was interesting to have them have a "back story". We also meet Boaz and his wife. I didn't even think about the fact that Boaz might be a widower when he met Ruth. The book has three sections. The first is when Naomi and her family were in Bethlehem and their time in Moab. The second section covers when Naomi and Ruth go from Moab back to Bethlehem and the final section starts when Ruth goes to the threshing floor to talk to Boaz about being a kinsman redeemer. I liked how Naomi taught Ruth about God and the Isrealites' culture. The book is written in 3rd person and follows Naomi, Ruth, and Boaz. I really liked how the book showed the characters' struggles, insecurities, and weaknesses but how they learned to trust God, have faith, and obey.
