Blizzard of 2011

I took this picture of our snowman yesterday afternoon as sort of a "before" shot.

I thought the icicles in the bushes were cool looking.

We seem to have a lot more icicles that normal this year!

The "after the after" picture!

I was Sarah's age during the Blizzard of 78 and remember playing out in the deep snow!

Sarah made a snow chair.

I was trying to get a picture of Andrew next to the snow drift up to his head, but my batteries were dying and it took too long to take the picture so you can't really see him!

  1. Sure was a lot of snow we got. Did you see my pictures? I forgot you were Sarah's age & Rachel must have been Will's age. Wow that seems like only yesterday when I think of it but when I think of your ages then & now I know it couldn't have been just yesterday.

  2. Wow, I'm glad we didn't get that much snow! But I bet the kids had a lot of fun.

  3. It was fun seeing your huge drifts, Becky! The ones of your picnic table were especially impressive. :)

Wow, I hadn't stopped to think of the age I was during that blizzard in comparison to our kids' ages before. I was Jesse & Caleb's age then... and I remember so well digging out tunnels in the front yard and crawling around in them. I remember very clearly the coat I had that winter, too, and how much I *loved* it! :)

  4. Yes, I remember digging tunnels, too. I don't think we would be able to get tunnels to not collapse with this snow. It wasn't very good packing snow. Looking at the dates for the '78 Blizzard, I guess I was a year younger than Sarah is now.

  5. I remember the blizzard of 1978, I was afraid to go out in the snow because I thought I'd fall in and get lost forever! I remember refusing to go out and play when you guys did. I'm not sorry at all! Brrr!
