Thanksgiving - A Reprise

We had our big extended family get together with my mom's side of the family today.  I also wanted to post the pictures of our finished Thanksgiving craft.

Here are the kids finishing up the craft.  And yes, William is running around without a shirt on!  He actually went out to play in the snow like that.  He just put his coat on and out he went!  Silly boy.

All finished ☺ The placemats my mom and I did many years ago!

Happy Thanksgiving

So, we didn't celebrate Thanksgiving today  since Dan was mostly sleeping or working (Black Friday and all).  But we did have a traditional Thanksgiving meal yesterday.  Which is what we normally do since Dan's pretty much had to work holidays the whole 15 years we've been married (He worked security before being at Walmart).  It's our "normal" and it works for us ☺ The kids did work on a Thanksgiving craft today, though.  We didn't finish (the snow outside was calling them!), so I'll post "after" pictures later!

Never Settle For Less Than Your Best

This is the banner over a bulletin board in the hallway at the older kids' school.  Last week when I was there, I noticed that William has a story he wrote on it, so I had to take some pictures.

William by his story

He used 'two' instead of 'to', but I think he did a pretty good job!

Sarah also has a leaf that she recorded a book she read

This might be easier to see?

Congratulations Gib & Katie!

Our church got a new youth pastor in August.  Well, he's new as the youth pastor, but not new to the church since it's his home church (although he worked/lived north of here).  I actually met him when I started teaching as he was a senior at the school I taught at and he was on the track team I coached.  Then when he started teaching, he came back and we were co-workers!  (And he took the pictures at our wedding)

Anyway, 2 weeks ago, Gib got married in California.  They had a reception Sunday after the evening service.

Full Double Rainbow

Today, there were some pretty intense storms that came through the area (and I heard spawned upwards of 75 tornadoes south of us).  The radar showed red for the rain and usually when we get really heavy rain, it's only ever orange.  The main part of the storm passed before we needed to head back to church for choir practice.  One of the ladies came in and said there was a pretty rainbow, so a few of us headed out to see.  We could see both sides and the complete arc.  As we watched, it turned into a double rainbow and got brighter.  It was beautiful and great to see God's promise to us after the stormy weather.

An Orange Ladder

We got the ladder for the boys' bunk beds painted orange!  I decided to paint the light switch cover, too, since most of the green paint was off.

Happy 6th Birthday, William!

Today is William's 6th birthday.  The kids didn't have school yesterday, so I brought in his birthday treat on Thursday.  We had his party today.

Will's birthday treat
The inspiration picture used candy corn for the tail, but none of the stores had any now that Halloween is over!

After the birthday treat, Emi's class came down to read to them ☺
