Book Review: "Unbroken Spirit" by Kelsey Norman

Nina is living with her Grandparents after surviving horrific abuse from her ex-boyfriend. Flashbacks and nightmares plague her until a supernatural stranger shows up who is assigned to help her through a difficult time to come in her future. I haven't had any experience with abuse that Nina had to deal with, but it seems to be realistic in the way that she deals with it. I kept waiting for the "other shoe to drop" wondering what big event Liam was there to help Nina with.

"Unbroken Spirit" is the first book in the "Mystic Hope" series and is listed as "an inspirational paranormal/fantasy romance" genre. I have not read any books in this genre before, so it was completely new for me. I liked how, with the support of Grams, Papa, and Liam, Nina learned her spirit wasn't broken and that she had strength and worth. I really liked Liam's gently ways and how he looked at everything with wide eyed wonder.

Sounds like a great read about overcoming the past with hope for the future.
