Book Review: An Amish Kitchen by Beth Wiseman, Amy Clipston, Kelly Long

"An Amish Kitchen" is a colletion of 3 novellas by Beth Wiseman, Amy Clipston, and Kelly Long, A Taste of Faith, A Spoonful of Love and A Recipe for Hope .  Each of the stories takes place in Paradise, Pennsylvania and mentions the other characters, so there is some connection between the books.  In "A Taste of Faith" Fern helps her grandmother provide herbal remedies for the community while hoping for a young man who appreciates her for who she is.  "A Spoonful of Love" is about Hannah who runs the "Paradise Inn" bed and breakfast and wonders if she'll ever find the right man with whom to share her life.  Finally, Eve and her mother never seem to see eye to eye unless they're cooking together in "A Recipe for Hope".  When Eve and her family must move back in with her parents, will they be able to find a way to truly get to know each other?

I like to read historical inspirational romances, so when I had the opportunity to review "An Amish Kitchen" I jumped on the chance!  While "An Amish Kitchen" technically isn't "historical", it feels more like it is since they don't use the same technologies as I do.  I received the book in ebook format which would be wonderful to read on the Kindle, but alas, we do not have a Kindle!  So I used the Kindle for PC app on my computer which forced me to have to sit at the computer to read the book, but all in all, not the end of the world!

The stories were short and not very developed, but not unexpected since they are novellas.  This did make it nice that it was easier to read in a shorter amount of time and I didn't end up staying up late to finish the book!  I think my favorite of the stories was "A Taste of Faith".  I liked how they referenced their faith in God and their dependance on Him for guidance in their life.  I also liked how they included recipes at the end so you can try them out for yourself.  Also included was a reading group guide.  I would recommend reading this book.
