Galkin Evangelistic Ministries

This week at our church, the Galkin Evangelistic Team is having meetings.  The messages are great and the music spectacular!  Friday, they are doing an hour long concert before the meeting and I am really looking forward to that!  This is one of my favorite songs now:  http://vimeo.com/forthegospel/byfaith

Marshmallow & Pretzel Skeletons

Here is how I made my little skeletons that I brought to our family costume party:

I used large pumpkin shaped marshmallows for the base with a toothpick for the "spine"

add 3 chocolate or yogurt covered pretzels

Make face with gel frosting or edible marker

Face (the flash made it come out weird)

Ta-da!

Will made a silly skeleton ♥

Halloween Part 2: Family Costume Party

This is the 12th year that my brother and sister and I (and our families) have had a costume party.  We take turns hosting it and this year was at my sister's house.  I didn't end up taking many pictures, but here they are:

William is very sensitive and gets embarrassed easily (it's part of his anxiety disorder).  He thought he looked silly in his costume (after seeing the ones from the store treak or treating) and refused to wear it  (I told him to wear it for at least the picture)

While we were waiting for my sister and brother-in-law to come for the picture, my brother was keeping the cousins warm

Halloween Part 1: Store Trick or Treating

The two grocery stores in our town did their store trick or treating on Saturday as did the historical museum, so we went to those 3 places today.

Meijer:

This year, the kids all used costumes I got last year on super clearance after Halloween
Emily is wearing her Civil War cape to "round out" the Little Red Riding Hood costume.

Will was in a hurry to get to the next station!

Walmart:
Never one to turn down face painting, Emily asked for a bat

I think it turned out like a nice owl!

Flat River Historical Museum:

Andy was walking his dog ☺

Class Halloween Parties

This year, I had to divide myself among 3 kids at party time.  Thankfully, they weren't all at exactly the same time.  Will's and Emily's overlapped most of the time, but Emi's was ½ hour longer, so I did Will's first and then caught the end of hers.  Sarah's didn't overlap at all.  Plus I played outside with them all at recess time.

This picture shows how short his pants are getting!
He's grown 1½" since school started the beginning of September!
